Abstract

When developing this theme, some factors in the cultural, educational and pedagogical spheres that contribute to the child's learning in the classroom were considered important, it was found that they are surrounded by these three realities in their daily lives. 

For this, meaningful reading is used as a link capable of integrating such realities, as reading is a social act, but each individual has different ways of understanding and comprehension, some use reading properly and safely, while others cannot properly familiarize themselves with the reading process. When you can't read it well, consequently, you don't get a good interpretation. For these reasons, the practice of reading starts from the reality of the student, especially the student from the city of Abaetetuba, who is inserted in the atmosphere of ethnic-cultural richness. Thus, the objective of the work is to present the cultural identity of Abaettuba as an instrument of the practice of meaningful reading in the classroom. In order to obtain such a result, the qualitative methodology of bibliographic research is used, through consultations with books, academic papers, scientific articles, dissertations and theses. In this way, it is evident that the traditional knowledge of Abaetetubenses, materialized in the works of the writer Maria de Nazaré Carvalho Lobato provide the practice of meaningful reading in the classroom.
