Abstract

To answer the problem of “Why don’t most teachers use literary texts (Fables) to teach English?”. The general objective of this project is to propose lessons using Fables to teach English. Therefore, this work was based on bibliographic research conducted through reading of books, articles and other materials. This article presents a Teaching Project that aims to show that it is possible to teach English by reading Fables, through two lessons that seek to teach, review and practice simple past verbs, using fable readings, video presentation, gap-filling activities and text production. The two lessons will present the concept of fables and introduce the simple past subject, which will be present in the fables: “The Fox and the Cat” and “The Ant and the Grasshopper” remembering previous lessons so that students can carry out the proposed activities.
