BPC: UM DEBATE NECESSÁRIO SOBRE A AMPLIAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO ACERCA DAS LEGISLAÇÕES QUE SUBSIDIAM O BENEFÍCIO DE PRESTAÇÃO CONTINUADA

Abstract

The objective of this research was to investigate, analyze and reflect on the precariousness
of the disclousure of the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC). With this purpose, the research
was structured as a bibliographical study that used the Integrative Literature Review
(ILR) as a method. In this sense, the results of this study point to a lack of information
among BPC beneficiaries who,even recognizing the differences between conventional
retirement and BPC, frequently, they confuse the origin of the benefit, mistakenly
associating it with social security insurance instead of assistance. It is thus concluded that
the results of these studies point to a worrying lack of understanding and lack of
information among beneficiaries of the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC). The participants,
even recognizing the difference between conventional retirement and the BPC, they often
confuse the origin of the benefit, mistakenly associating it with social security insurance
instead of social assistance. This reflects on a distorted perception, considering the BPC
as a divine and state benevolence, evidencing the lack of knowledge about their own
condition as beneficiaries and the precariousness of work faced throughout their lives.  Therefore, this lack of understanding and misinformation among BPC beneficiaries, It is
a serious problem, as it can result in difficulties in accessing the benefit to which they are
entitled. In addition, confusion about the origin of the benefit can lead to
misinterpretations of their rights and responsibilities, further damaging their
socioeconomic situation. It is important to highlight the relevance of the results of these
studies, as they point to the urgent need for effective strategies for information and
dissemination of the BPC. Therefore, the responsibility for passing on information about
the BPC is collective and covers different governmental and professional spheres, it is
concluded that the BPC needs to be an instrument of dissemination and information for
all.
