This article aims to know the role of nurses in the care of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is an exploratory study with a
qualitative approach of the Integrative Literature Review type. A systematic search was carried out in the electronic databases Virtual Health
Library (VHL), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), to
identify pertinent studies on the role of nurses in the care of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The descriptors used were:
systematization of nursing care; child care; Autism Spectrum Disorder. After the search, the studies were selected, using predefined inclusion
and exclusion criteria to choose the studies that will be included in the review. Studies between the years 2018 and 2023 were selecte. The
exclusion criteria were established in incomplete articles, duplicate studies and those that were not related to the theme investigated or to the
objective of this study. A total of 24 articles were found, according to the use of the selected criteria, of which 6 studies were used in the
production process of this article. The process of analysis of the studies led to the construction of three categories that evidenced the role of
nurses in the care of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), namely: Nursing care management; Valuing and humanized family
welcoming; Education and health promotion. In addition to considering the complexity of care for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder,
the nurse's work plays a fundamental role in several areas, coordinating the actions and interventions necessary to meet the specific demands
of children with TEA, ensuring a holistic and patient-centered approach
