O FALAR RIBEIRINHO: DESVELANDO AS DIFICULDADES DE COMUNICAÇÃO E OS EFEITOS DA DISCRIMINAÇÃO LINGUÍSTICA

This scientific article explores the communication difficulties faced by riverside dwellers due
to linguistic discrimination. The study investigated the communication barriers experienced by
students from the Vila de Maiauatá Community, in Igarapé Miri, Pará State, analyzing how
linguistic discrimination impacts their social, educational and professional interactions. It was
used as a methodology, literature review and field research, in which 35 riverside dwellers were
submitted to questionnaires. The results revealed the complexities of communication
difficulties, highlighting the emotional and social consequences of linguistic discrimination.
Contributing to the understanding of the language barriers faced by riverside dwellers in various
sectors and daily life, highlighting the urgent need to value and respect the ways of speaking,
as well as the promotion of social inclusion and equal opportunities for communities like this,
of fundamental importance for the Amazonian culture.
